Building Narratives is a photography practice telling stories around architecture, interiors and the built environment through images. It was founded by Nick Dearden, a graduate of the Sheffield School of Architecture.

Nick’s passion for visually documenting spaces arose during his time at university. His final year thesis explored how images could be used to convey a heightened sense of the atmospheric, material and temporal qualities of buildings.

Since completing his studies, Nick has had the benefit of working in both architectural practice and as assistant to several leading architectural photographers. His aesthetic is characterised by its sense of calm and simplicity.

Nick forges lasting professional relationships with clients, listening carefully the brief and researching each project in depth. His architectural background enables him to understand key design strategies and spatial concepts, in order to produce striking sets of images that convey the whole narrative of buildings and their contexts.
